Secretary’s Corner – December 26

This week Secretary’s Corner will be a little shorter than usual because it’s Christmas and the secretary is celebrating with her family.

However, on the theme of family, I realized in the last year that I have a very…unique family, to put it mildly. On my mom’s side, when my cousins come for Christmas, we get together for many days, just enjoying each other’s presence. I was talking with my sister and we were naïvely surprised to discover that not everyone gets together for ten straight days, and it made us sad. Now, I’m not saying you have to get together for days to connect, but it seems like our culture pushes loneliness and solitude, and in a season of celebration, it is good to be intentional. Take the time you have and pour into it. Whether it’s family, friends, invest in them. The people you love won’t be around forever. Make your time count.
